Alex Harold
看片软件 native Alex Harold has always had a knack for taking things apart and putting them back together, skills that led him to pursue Mechanical Maintenance at BSC. After a few years away from school and an initial year studying music education at the University of North Dakota, Alex found his way back home and into a program that matched his hands-on learning style.
Now in his first year at BSC, Alex thrives in the college’s Mechanical Maintenance program, where he gets to work with his hands nearly every day. “I’ll do the classroom stuff because we have to,” he says, “but I most enjoy working with my hands.” He’s learning practical skills like motor alignment and system troubleshooting, skills that require patience and precision, and which prepare students for high-demand technical careers.

Christ Galster
For Christ Galster, returning to college as an adult student wasn’t just 看片软件 expanding career options, it was 看片软件 rediscovering a lifelong interest in how things work. Raised in 看片软件 and now living in Mandan, Christ had early exposure to mechanical problem-solving through family farm projects with his father and grandfather. Over the years, that curiosity evolved into a quiet expertise. “No matter where I was,” he said, “if something wasn’t working, it always seemed to fall to me to figure it out.”
After completing BSC’s Auto Tech program and gaining hands-on experience at the the local newspaper in production maintenance, Christ transitioned into the Mechanical Maintenance program to deepen his knowledge of mechanical systems. Although balancing full-time work with school was difficult, Christ made the decision to step away from his job and fully invest in his education.
“I’ve really enjoyed exploring mechanics and have discovered an interest in engineering,” he said, noting that he’s now considering continuing his studies in mechanical or construction engineering.
Christ is grateful to have received the Metallica Scholars scholarship at BSC. “It was a surprise when I received it,” he said. “But it made a difference. Even a modest award goes a long way when you’re working hard to make ends meet.” The scholarship helped cover tuition and grant
Reflecting on the support he’s received through BSC’s student services and the Metallica Scholars scholarship, Christ shared, “It’s neat to see a band like Metallica giving back in this way. I hope their foundation continues making a positive impact on communities like ours.”
