Description
Students in this pathway may complete the first two years of study toward a bachelor鈥檚 degree in sociology, anthropology, or social and criminal justice by following the suggested curriculum. Sociology is the discipline that explores how people create and maintain society, develop culture and organize the patterns of their lives in families, groups, and institutions. Through sociology, students develop skills in analysis, communication, and reasoning.
Preparation
High school class suggestions include sociology, psychology and/or other social sciences, math preparation for college algebra and/or statistics, and writing.
Requirements
Students who complete the suggested curriculum requirements receive a Liberal Arts - Associate in Arts degree.
BSC offers a four-year pathway in Behavioral Health, beginning with the听听and leading to the听. This pathway provides students with the opportunity to build foundational skills in counseling and human services before advancing to upper-level coursework focused on behavioral health theory, case management, crisis intervention, and community support. Graduates are prepared for careers in mental health agencies, healthcare, social service organizations, and other community-based settings, or for continued graduate study in the behavioral health field.

Some of these agreements are established to allow students to remain on campus as they complete their bachelor鈥檚 degree. In all cases, students seeking to transfer after completing a degree at BSC should consult the academic catalog of their destination college and work with their academic advisor to plan for this transition.

A bachelor鈥檚 degree in sociology prepares students for graduate studies in criminal justice, law, public administration, or sociology.
