Description

The Athletic Coaching Certificate is a specialized program designed to prepare individuals for coaching roles in school, recreational, or competitive athletic settings. This certificate provides foundational knowledge and practical skills in coaching philosophy, sports psychology, training methods, injury prevention, and team management.

This certification is ideal for educators, former athletes, or aspiring coaches seeking formal training to enhance their credentials and meet the requirements set by schools, athletic organizations, or state education departments.

Preparation

Students interested in this certificate should be resourceful, flexible, creative problem solvers, interested in sports, coaching, or exercise science, and thirsty for life-long learning opportunities. Excellent writing skills, oral communication skills, leadership skills, and interpersonal skills are crucial to a successful career in coaching. Previous experience in sports or exercise science is helpful.

Requirements

Students who complete the curriculum requirements receive a Program Certificate in Athletic Coaching.
