At St Mary’s, we are proud of our Careers Programme, and our performance against the Gatsby Benchmarks shows that we are right to be so.  Our comprehensive careers curriculum develops well-rounded individuals equipped with the skills, knowledge and attributes necessary to excel in the real world and make informed decisions about post-16 and post-18 education, and achieve aspirational professional career goals.

Through a rich and extensive range of visiting speakers, professional-led workshops, careers fairs, industry visits and work experience, we empower students to thrive in the competitive job market and find fulfilling and aspirational careers.  In addition to these experiences, our classroom sessions delivered through the PDT programme, develop professional, transferable skills such as communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, teamwork, and leadership.

Students will gain essential life knowledge and skills like evaluating budgeting and savings options, managing debt and risk, and understanding laws around employment issues like the protected characteristics, stereotyping and discrimination.
